Nuestras Clases de Cocina en Oaxaca son una experiencia que todos nuestros huéspedes han disfrutado y amado. Hacemos un acercamiento social, culturale histórico mientras aprendemos sobre la comida y sus orígenes. Empezaremos en el mercado local para comprar los ingredientes, y luego volver a casa para preparar una bebida caliente y empezar a cocinar todo desde cero.

Tenemos tres menús Nixtamal, Tortillas & Salsas, Moles veganos y Clases de cocina mexicana vegetarianas. En cada una de las clases nos vamos a enfocar en los detalles de la comida de hoy, su aspecto social y los sistemas alimentarios de Oaxaca, México y el resto del mundo a través de la historia.

Cooking Class in Oaxaca: Nixtamal, Tortillas & Salsas

Learn how to make tortillas from scratch, the Nixtamal process, and salsas to make a foundation for other meals like quesadillas or memelas. All-Hands-on-Deck cooking while we discuss the politics around food in Mexico and the US. All the classes are Vegan-Friendly, and include a visit to the market to buy our ingredients and learn about the sourcing and food systems of Oaxaca and Mexico. Cooking Class in Oaxaca: Vegan Moles

Let’s prepare the traditional moles leaving out the lard and the chicken broth. The flavors of the peppers, seeds and fruits are the ones giving us the real taste of those delicious sauces. This class is Vegan, but it’s possible to add Vegetarian ingredients if you prefer. It also includes a visit to the market to buy the ingredients and learn about the sourcing and food systems of Oaxaca and Mexico. Clase de Cocina: Cocina Mexicana Vegetariana

Mexican food doesn’t have to include meat. From chiles rellenos to enchiladas, passing by soups and salsas. All of them can be prepared with a plant-based list of ingredients. Vegan options are available too. Like the other classes, this one also begins at the market to source the ingredients and to show you my neighborhood market 🙂

Where the Coking Classes Take Place?

We’re going to be cooking and sharing in my personal cooking space here in Oaxaca City. No agencies or companies run the classes. This is a self-managed and community-oriented project that aims to distribute the profits among the community.
